Washer Unlock Procedures

Common Lock Situations:

  • Door locked during cycle
  • Control panel locked
  • Child safety lock engaged
  • Emergency unlock required
  • Power interruption lock

Step-by-Step Unlock Methods

  1. Normal Cycle Completion: Wait for cycle to complete - door will automatically unlock when cycle finishes and water drains completely.
  2. Pause and Unlock: Press "Pause/Cancel" button twice - wait 2 minutes for door to unlock automatically.
  3. Power Interruption: Unplug washer for 2 minutes, then reconnect power - this resets the control system.
  4. Emergency Unlock: For front-load models, access emergency release cord located behind the kick panel or bottom front.
  5. Child Lock Deactivation: Press and hold "Control Lock" button for 3-5 seconds until indicator light turns off.
  6. Manual Drain Required: If washer contains water, you must drain manually before door can be unlocked.
  7. Factory Reset: Unplug machine, wait 5 minutes, plug back in - this clears temporary lock conditions.
Warning: Never force the door open as this may damage the locking mechanism. Always follow proper unlock procedures.
